There’s too many black “adults” that are still determining statuses based on skin color. There’s no reason why our ancestors fought so much for EQUALITY..only for us as a black race to separate OURSELVES because of how light or dark we are. Light skin is no better than dark skin and vice versa. It sickens me to hear black people hate on one another based on the tone of their skin. I’ve seen some UGLY light skin people and some BEAUTIFUL dark people.. so what’s the point of the foolish stereotypes?

     The thing that kills me the most is black men who refuse to date black women. I feel SO sorry for these black women who raised their sons only for them to hate their own. Some men say they refuse to deal with black women’s attitudes. I feel like any black man who is SCARED of a black woman’s “attitude” is a PUNK. Period. Plus.. any black man who feels he needs the help of another race in order to have “cute” kids is a disgrace and is insecure in HIMSELF.

     A lot of this even took place in the slavery days, as the dark were set to wrok outside, while the lighter blacks were allowed to work inside the house. It’s sad to see that we are approaching 2012 and some people’s mindsets STILL haven’t changed. Maybe we can blame slavery.. OR maybe the media for setting the “lighter the better” standard. Maybe we can blame a lot of rappers, who glorify light skinned women in their songs. Whatever the case may be, it’s caused blacks to think they are higher or lower in society because of their skin color. IT ISN’T RIGHT and it’s the most ignorant thing that can come out of a black person’s mouth nowadays.

     Sometimes we should really stop and thank God for the air we breath. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that you have to be perfect to show gratitude for the things that God does. His MERCY, GRACE, LOVE, AND PATIENCE gives us the opportunity to live each day. I’ve lost too many friends in my 23 years of life to know that tomorrow is not promised. With that being said, (breaths in ..breaths out) Lord, I thank you for being SO good to an undeserving me. EVERY breath is a privilege.
